Permitting Coordinator

Pole Buildings Unlimited is seeking an experienced Permitting Coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time, in-person position responsible for managing the permitting process for our construction projects throughout our service area.

Prior permitting experience is required. We are looking for someone who understands the permitting process and can confidently manage applications, follow-ups, revisions, and communication with the appropriate jurisdictions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications for construction projects
  • Communicate with county, city, and other local permitting offices
  • Monitor permit status and proactively follow up on outstanding applications
  • Handle permit revisions, updates, resubmissions, and additional documentation requests
  • Review applications and supporting documents for accuracy and completeness before submission
  • Coordinate with project managers, customers, engineers, and other team members to obtain required information
  • Maintain organized records of permits, approvals, correspondence, and project documentation
  • Keep the team informed of permit status, requirements, delays, and approvals
  • Help identify and resolve permitting issues that could affect construction schedules
  • Maintain familiarity with permitting requirements across the areas in which Pole Buildings Unlimited operates
Qualifications
  • Previous professional experience with construction permitting is required
  • Working knowledge of permit applications, approvals, revisions, and related processes
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with government offices, customers, contractors, and internal team members
  • Ability to work independently, follow up consistently, and take ownership of the permitting process
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with digital documents, email, online permitting portals, and office software
  • Construction industry experience is strongly preferred
