If you are the kind of person who gets an unusual amount of satisfaction from finding the missing document, solving the problem everyone else overlooked, organizing chaos, and getting things moving again, please keep reading.
At Brda Electric, permits, licenses, inspections, utility applications, and compliance are not just paperwork. They are the difference between a project moving forward and a project sitting still.
We are looking for a sharp, organized, relentlessly detail-oriented Permitting and Licensing Specialist to become a critical part of our growing operation.
You will work across our Residential, Commercial, and Solar divisions, managing the approvals, registrations, documentation, inspections, and utility coordination that keep our projects on track.
Brda Electric has been serving the St. Louis region since 1989 and has grown into a multi-service electrical contractor supporting residential, commercial, and solar customers. The company is family-owned, locally rooted, and continues to expand its services and operations.
We are not looking to stay the same. We are improving systems, investing in people, growing our capabilities, and building an operation capable of supporting where the company is going next.
If you are looking for a quiet position where you process the same forms every day and wait for someone to tell you what to do, this probably isn’t the job for you.
You’ll need to be comfortable asking questions, digging for answers, following up, and being the person who says "We can't move forward until this gets handled."
Every project starts somewhere. Before the electrician arrives, before the equipment is installed, before the solar system gets energized, before the customer sees progress. Someone has to make sure the permits are submitted, the contractor registration is current, the utility paperwork is complete, the inspection is scheduled, the documentation is accurate, and the approvals are in place. That someone is you.
Brda Electric manages projects across residential electric, commercial electric, and solar, including the permitting and utility coordination required to keep projects progressing from planning through activation.
Your work will have a direct impact on project timelines, customer experience, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, field productivity, and revenue flow.
You will take ownership of helping ensure our projects have the approvals they need to move forward. This includes but is not limited to:
You will learn the difference between jurisdictions and figure out what each municipality wants.
You will assist with:
You will become one of the people at Brda who knows what expires, when it expires, what it requires, and what needs to happen before it becomes someone else’s emergency.
Permits are only part of the equation. Projects also require coordination. You will help manage municipal inspection scheduling, inspection documentation, utility applications, utility approvals, solar interconnection paperwork, required utility documentation, status tracking and follow up, and communication with utility providers and internal teams.
We are growing. This means the systems that got us here won’t always be the systems that get us where we are going. We are not looking for someone who simply follows a process. We are looking for someone who can help make the process better.
You will do this by:
You will be a good fit if you are the type of person who:
You do not necessarily need to have done this exact job before.
