Job summary

Pierce County's Development Services offers a role focused on leading complex permitting workflows, coordinating timelines, and forecasting demand. You will analyze patterns, partner with planners, engineers, and specialists, and use Power BI, Power Query, and Workday to drive decisions and performance improvement.

This position emphasizes cross-team collaboration, statutory alignment, and delivering high-quality permit outcomes for residents and builders throughout Pierce County.

Qualifications

  • Four years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, data analytics, project management or a related field.
  • A resume and cover letter are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Department and County at board meetings, committees, public hearings, and community meetings.
  • Work closely with divisions and external agencies on projects and program development.
  • Facilitate planning committee meetings and public hearings/forums as appropriate.
  • Participate in local and statewide workgroups regarding planning and policy development.
  • Coordinate and implement department-wide strategic plans and performance assessments.
  • Provide leadership in department activities through performance measures and reporting.
  • Coordinate and conduct analysis, documentation of processes, and improvement initiatives.
