Job summary

Pierce County's Development Services seeks a project and process leader to coordinate permitting workflows, analyze trends with Power BI, forecast demand, and ensure timely reviews for our community.

You will partner with planners, engineers, customer service staff, and technical specialists to keep reviews moving, identify risks early, and implement data-driven improvements. This role offers growth within PPW across permitting, planning, and operations.

Qualifications

  • Four years of project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, data analytics, project management or a related field.
  • PMP is preferred.
  • Resume and cover letter are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Department at board meetings, committees, public hearings, and community meetings.
  • Work with divisions and outside agencies on projects and program development.
  • Facilitate planning committee meetings and public hearings/forums as appropriate.
  • Participate in local and statewide workgroups regarding planning and policy development.
  • Manage development and implementation of department-wide strategic plans and performance assessments.
  • Provide leadership in reporting of department activities through performance measures and reports.
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of sensitive and complex special studies and statistical reports.
  • Coordinate and conduct office/workflow process teams to analyze, implement, and enhance processes.
