Responsibilities

Permits Management: Obtain oversize and overweight permits accurately and efficiently for all applicable loads.
Agency Coordination: Communicate directly with state and local DOT agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.
Driver Support: Assist drivers and internal stakeholders with permitting questions, requirements, and issue resolution.
Escort Coordination: Arrange pilot and escort vehicles when required by permit or route restrictions.
Load Review: Verify load dimensions, weights, axle configurations, and routing details prior to permit submission.
Problem Resolution: Troubleshoot permit rejections, routing challenges, and regulatory conflicts.
Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate permit documentation and related records in internal systems.

Permits Specialist Position Summary

The Permits Specialist is responsible for securing and managing oversize and overweight (OS/OW) permits across multiple state and local jurisdictions. This role serves as a critical operational partner to drivers, dispatch, and internal teams by ensuring every load complies with applicable permitting, routing, and regulatory requirements prior to movement.

This position requires a high level of attention to detail, regulatory awareness, and the ability to operate under time-sensitive conditions in a high-volume environment.

Your Responsibilities
