The Office of Construction and Building Standards within the Department of Buildings (DOB) in Washington, DC is seeking a qualified reviewer to manage permit packages and ensure compliance with building codes and zoning regulations.

This position involves prescreening drawings, assigning classifications by scope and square footage, and communicating permit requirements, processing steps, and approvals to applicants and internal staff.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience is work that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
• At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level.

Responsabilités

• Reviews incoming permit application packages for consistency and ensure accuracy.
• Assigns job classifications based on scope of work and square footage.
• Prescreens submitted drawings and documents, to make sure all projects meet the minimum requirements.
• Communicates information directly to internal and external customers about construction permit requirements, processing, and approvals.
• Resolves issues and answers questions related to permit applications, prescreening, and applicable submission guidelines for construction permits.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
