Responsibilities

• Review architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, thermal, energy, and fire safety designs for compliance with the IBC (International Building Code) standards, national standards and local ordinances.
• Perform independent calculations to verify performance-based design elements.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including planning, fire and engineering, to confirm findings and recommend corrective measures.
• Provide feedback via written reports (correction letters) to architects, engineers, and contractors regarding code compliance and design flaws.
• Participate in professional development training and maintain current knowledge of codes and best practices.
• Maintain design files and records.

Qualifications

• Five years of construction experience required.
• Possession of or ability to obtain ICC (International Code Council) certifications in building, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing plan review.
• Deep understanding of construction practices, materials, and municipal codes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong analytical, technical review, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, time management, and ability to manage shifting workloads.
• Valid driver’s license required.
