Job summary

Douglas County Building Department seeks a full-time technician to coordinate the building permit application process. You will provide information to the public, review plans for compliance, issue permits, and assist with inspections as needed.

Qualifications include an Associate's degree or equivalent and 2 years of related experience; experience with permit tracking systems and knowledge of Oregon/County codes is preferred. Excellent benefits and on-site childcare are available.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable.
• Associate's degree plus two years' related experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret codes, plans, and ordinances is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the building permit application process between the public and county departments.
• Review construction plans for compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Issue building permits and respond to public questions.
• Assist in field inspections and maintain accurate records using automated systems.
