Job summary

Douglas County Government (CO) seeks an experienced administrative professional for the Building Division to handle permits, inspections and public inquiries. This role emphasizes excellent customer service, accurate processing of applications, and reliable recordkeeping in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with relevant office experience, plus coursework in accounting or budgeting. ICC Permit Technician certification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with three years' public-facing office experience.
  • Courses in accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting or office administration.
  • ICC Permit Technician Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist at the front counter and by phone with building permits, inspections and web services.
  • Review and process permit applications, check compliance and issue permits.
  • Provide customer service with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Prepare complex correspondence and maintain records.
  • Initiate electronic permitting for building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and demolition permits and collect payments.
  • Maintain filing and electronic imaging of documents daily.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
