Job summary

The Weston Public Schools is seeking a Permanent Building Substitute Teacher for Field School (grades 4-5) to cover a 3.5 month leave of absence. This full-time role runs 7.5 hours per day (7 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch) and reports to the Building Principal in Weston, MA.

Starting December 15, 2026, the candidate will provide daily coverage, support instruction, and collaborate with staff to maintain a high-quality learning environment during the temporary absence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or preferred.
• Massachusetts Teaching license strongly preferred.
• Experience in diverse public school setting preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Foster an environment of respect and inclusion.
• Provide daily coverage for teachers and supervise study hall.
• Provide coverage in other Weston elementary schools as needed.
• Support school-wide duties.
• Provide individual and small group instruction, in-person and remotely.
• Assist teachers in developing and implementing strategies to reinforce skills and content.
• Collaborate with teachers and related service providers.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
