Job summary

Families United Network seeks a Permanency Adoption Specialist in Pittsburgh, PA to help children in foster care achieve safe, stable, and permanent living situations through adoption, reunification, and other permanency goals.

The role involves travel throughout the service area, direct work with foster and adoptive families, and collaboration with case managers and partners to promote permanency and connect families with resources.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of experience working with children and/or families may be considered in place of a degree.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • The agency pays for required clearances (PA State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource to Case Managers and resource families regarding adoption and permanency.
  • Work directly with foster and adoptive families to provide guidance and support.
  • Provide SWAN (Statewide Adoption and Permanency Network) services to children and families.
  • Support children and families in achieving permanency goals and connecting with appropriate resources.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers, social workers, families, and community partners.
  • Help plan and participate in events that promote and celebrate adoption and permanency.
  • Complete required documentation and follow agency policies and applicable regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
