Qualifications

This facility provides Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, giving clinicians the opportunity to work with patients across different stages of recovery. Responsibilities

Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist

Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, coordination, and functional independence

Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, functional mobility, and other rehabilitation activities

Support patients recovering from brain injuries, strokes, and other neurological or medical conditions

Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist

Document treatments and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner

Encourage patients throughout the rehabilitation process while promoting safety and independence

Collaborate with Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, nursing staff, and other members of the care team

Educate patients and caregivers on safe mobility techniques and strategies that support continued progress

Maintain a compassionate, patient-centered approach in every interaction

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in Maine

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team

Interest in neurological rehabilitation and helping patients achieve meaningful functional goals

Commitment to safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care
