Job summary

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join a 58-bed skilled nursing facility in Camden, Maine. In this role, you’ll provide PT interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and help patients regain mobility, strength, balance, and independence.

The position offers a 35-hour work week (Mon–Fri with weekend rotation) and hourly compensation ranging from $26 to $34.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Maine PTA license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple patient needs in a rehabilitation environment.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans to support patients’ mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional abilities.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional mobility.
  • Monitor patient tolerance and response to treatment and communicate observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Accurately document treatments and patient progress.
  • Encourage and motivate patients as they work toward their rehabilitation goals.
  • Promote safe mobility and independence in daily activities.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Provide education and support to patients and caregivers when appropriate.
  • Maintain a compassionate and professional approach while delivering patient-centered care.

The facility provides post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care services. As a PTA, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, supporting individuals as they transition from hospitalization back toward greater function and independence.
