Talented Medical Solutions in Skowhegan, Maine is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join a 74-bed skilled nursing facility on a full-time basis. You will provide PTA-level interventions under a licensed Physical Therapist to aid patients in regaining strength and independence.

New graduates are welcome and will be compensated based on qualifications and experience. Schedule is Monday–Friday with weekend rotation, offering a collaborative, patient-centered rehabilitation environment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current Maine PTA license or eligibility.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide PTA interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and mobility.
• Document treatments and patient progress accurately.
• Collaborate with nursing and therapy staff to support comprehensive patient care.

Compensation: $26–$30 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | Weekend rotation

Join a dedicated rehabilitation team at a 74-bed skilled nursing facility providing comprehensive care to patients at different stages of recovery. The facility specializes in post-hospital, short-term rehabilitation as well as long-term and respite care, giving PTAs the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population and make a meaningful impact every day.

The rehabilitation team is committed to addressing the medical and functional needs of individuals recovering from illness, injury, surgery, hospitalization, or changes in mobility. As a PTA, you’ll play an important role in helping patients regain strength, improve mobility, build confidence, and work toward greater independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist
• Implement treatment plans designed to improve strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and functional independence
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and other functional activities
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Accurately document treatments, patient progress, and other required clinical information
• Encourage and motivate patients throughout the rehabilitation process
• Promote safe mobility and help patients develop skills they can carry over into their daily routines
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other members of the care team to support comprehensive patient care
• Maintain a compassionate, professional approach while working with patients and their families

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in Maine
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to providing safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care
