Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is looking for a General Warehouse Worker (Perishable) to support daily distribution center operations. You will handle perishable merchandise safely and efficiently, move items with basic equipment, and help maintain accurate inventory in a fast-paced environment.

This position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability, with responsibilities spanning picking, packing, loading, and reporting discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with coworkers and management; ability to follow directions and report data accurately.
• Basic math concepts for counting, weighing, and verifying quantities.
• Ability to operate a Radio Frequency (RF) unit for data entry and inventory tracking.
• Capacity to learn and operate motorized merchandise movement equipment (e.g., forklift).
• Ability to maintain annual certification requirements and safety training.

Responsibilities

• Move incoming or outgoing merchandise throughout the distribution center by hand, hand truck, or forklift equipment.
• Check, verify and audit merchandise to ensure correct receipt and condition; enter data into remote data terminal.
• Identify, separate, label, and palletize merchandise onto flats.
• Replenish pick areas as identified by replenishment reports and requests for merchandise.
• Fill merchandise orders from stores by selecting and moving merchandise from pick slot to conveyor.
• Load outgoing merchandise from conveyor and/or four-wheel truck into trailer.
• Report damages and/or vendor compliance issues to supervisor.
• Partner with supervisors to resolve problems or discrepancies.
• Meet safety, productivity and quality standards.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
