Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Columbia, SC is seeking a reliable delivery driver to safely and efficiently transport perishable dairy and beverage products to established customers. Prior delivery experience with non-CDL or CDL classes may apply, with training for higher classifications as needed.

You will handle order selection, load securement, DOT hours of service compliance, and customer service responsibilities while maintaining accurate records and invoices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Class C delivery experience or operation with a valid Class B permit.
• Understanding of Federal Motor Carrier operator laws and requirements.
• Licenses: Valid Class C License; Class B CDL required within 3 months of hire; willing to transition to Class B CDL within six months; forklift certification may be required for targeted positions.

Responsibilities

• Safely and lawfully operate non-CDL delivery vehicles including straight trucks, pickup trucks, box trucks and CDL Class vehicles as trained.
• Operate truck refrigeration units and mechanical lift devices and use hand trucks, dollies, and pallet jacks for delivery.
• Manage truck inventory, select orders, and account for missing or damaged items; collect empties and secure loads.
• Maintain DOT hours of service compliance, carry a valid CDL medical card, and participate in drug testing as required.
• Provide friendly service to customers and perform order placement to minimize stockouts and returns.
• Transact invoices and payments and keep records per company policy; comply with all safety and training requirements.
