Job summary

Dollar General in Rolling Fork, MS seeks a store associate to manage Perishable Departments including produce, meats, dairy, and bakery. You will assist with inventory management, merchandising, and ensuring a safe work environment while maintaining strong customer service.

The role supports the Store Manager in staff training, policy adherence, and perishable product quality. Prior retail and supervisory experience is preferred, with food handling certifications where applicable.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cash accountability and adherence to cash control procedures.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Employee Handbook, and company communications.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels and use tools such as Ads/Planners and order guides.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing, and safe handling of food in Perishable areas.
• Record Perishable Markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrences; ensure compliance with safety policies.
