Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Manager in Crystal Springs, MS. You will oversee Perishable Departments, ensuring inventory accuracy, fresh product presentation, and customer‑focused service.

Lead and train associates in proper stocking, safety, and merchandising to drive store performance. You will collaborate with the Store Manager to schedule coverage, enforce food handling regulations, and maintain compliance with sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Perishable Departments including Produce, Fresh Meat, Packaged Meats, Dairy, Frozen Food, Bread, and Bakery products to ensure inventory and presentation.
• Ensure a safe working environment and protect company assets; enforce food handling rules and regulations.
• Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, pricing standards, safe handling, and hourly recovery standards.
• Assist in scheduling coverage; monitor workload and productivity; support Store Manager as needed.
• Record inventory levels, manage markdowns, and analyze stock to minimize shrinkage.
