Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a team member for the Perishable Department in Virginia to deliver quality customer service and maintain high standards. You will manage meat, dairy, and fresh items, assist customers, rotate stock, and follow safety and training guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying comply with policies.
• Maintain product levels in Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream).
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat cases as needed.
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean grinders as required.
• Clean and sanitize the department.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents.
