Job summary

Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, CA is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our Perioperative team. You will perform scrub roles, prepare sterile setups, and assist surgeons and nurses throughout procedures in the operating room.

The role emphasizes maintaining aseptic environments, passing instruments, and coordinating with SPD for specialty instrument needs. The candidate should have surgical tech training and be able to work cooperatively with the team.

Qualifications

• Graduate from high school or equivalent program.
• Completion of Surgical Technologist course required.
• Surgical Technologist certification preferred.
• One year of experience.
• Current BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, medications, supplies, holding retractors, and anticipating surgeons' needs during the course of surgery.
• Assist in maintaining safe and aseptic environment for all patients.
• Assist the surgeon at the sterile field and the registered nurse during the surgical procedure.
• Act as resource person for others in the department and actively participates in the training of new personnel.
• Help coordinate special instrument needs between SPD and the OR for each specialty.
