Job summary

Optim is seeking a Surgical Technician (PRN) in Savannah, GA to assist in the operating room. The role entails assembling instruments, preparing the room, maintaining sterile technique, and supporting surgeons during procedures.

The position requires a surgical technologist program graduate, High school diploma, and may prefer NBSTA certification. Experience is welcome but new grads will be considered; reporting to the Surgical Nurse Manager, this is a part-time, on-site role in a clinical

Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of a recognized and accredited Surgical Technologist Program.
NBSTA Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepares operating room for procedures, assembles supplies, instruments, and equipment.
Assists in cleaning and prepping rooms between procedures and at schedule end.
Monitors and maintains instruments, supplies, and equipment; ensures asepsis per standards.
Keeps proficiency with surgical instruments and equipment; adheres to asepsis standards.
Participates in counts of sponges, needles, and instruments with the circulating nurse.
Identifies and preserves specimens received during surgery.
Reports any unusual occurrences, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
