Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to join the operating room team, supporting surgeons and maintaining a sterile field while preparing instruments and supplies for procedures. The role requires attention to detail and strong listening skills, with a primary shift from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

and 40 hours per week, including on-call coverage as needed. Education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a NJ-approved surgical tech program or graduation from an LPN

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; NJ-approved surgical tech program or LPN with current license required.
• Certification from nationally recognized body for surgical technician preferred.
• No prior experience required; healthcare surgical services experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining sterile field.
• Prepare the operating room and sterilize instruments and supplies.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and report unsafe practices.
• Assist with pulling cases and checking case carts for completeness.
• Support plan of care including patient positioning and specimen handling.
