Rochester Regional Health's Unity Hospital seeks an OR Surgical Tech to serve as the primary scrub technologist. You will prepare instruments, maintain sterile fields, and assist surgeons during procedures, with emphasis on aseptic technique and patient safety.

The role involves ongoing CME, instrument prep, patient draping, and collaboration with the surgical team. 40-hour weekly schedule includes day and evening shifts at Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Competenze

• Accredited Surgical Technology program completion required.
• Certification from a national credentialing body within 12 months of graduation.
• Option for Practical Nursing grad with stated eligibility.
• Grandfathering clause for prior experience (2010–2014).
• Hard-to-fill clause for certification within 24 months of hire.

Mansioni

• Maintain a minimum of 15 Continuing Medical Education hours annually.
• Prepare and check instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Set up and maintain a sterile field with aseptic techniques.
• Assist with patient draping and ensure proper attire for the surgical team.
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
• Perform accurate sponge and sharp counts with the circulating nurse.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with post-operative care.
• Help orient new staff and contribute to unit goals and objectives.

Formazione

CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program

Certification through a nationally accredited credentialing organization within 12 months

Graduated from an accredited school of practical nursing

Grandfathering Clause – 1+ year surgical technologist experience (2010-2014)

Hard-to-Fill Clause – certification within 24 months of hire
