Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to support nursing staff by receiving, caring for, and transporting patients within the perioperative region. The role includes cleaning and maintaining equipment and ensuring supplies are available as needed.

The position emphasizes teamwork, adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance with hospital policies. Training and cross‑training for anesthesia technician tasks may be provided.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff in receiving, caring for and transporting patients to and from the perioperative region.
• Clean and maintain patient care equipment and provide supplies as needed.
• Participate in quality control, quality assurance and preventive maintenance activities.
• Attend equipment and supply in-services, evaluations and staff meetings.
• Disposites of trash and linen per hospital protocol.
• Transport/receive patients, equipment, supplies within the region and hospital according to policies.
• Orient new staff members and cross-train for anesthesia technician role functions.
