Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Perioperative Nursing Assistant to support Surgical Services operations in pre-op, intra-op and post-op areas. You will work across multiple areas, applying aseptic technique and collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers and registered nurses.

The role requires independent judgment, ability to function in a fast-paced environment, and timely documentation. On-call shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays, are part of the schedule in Peoria, Illinois.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates Surgical Services Operations by supporting multiple areas.
• Maintains aseptic technique across areas and supports the sterile field.
• Assists surgeons, physicians, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists and RNs.
• Performs perioperative support for pre-op, intra-op and post-op activities.
• Operates with independence across various surgical specialties and phases.
• Ensures timely and accurate documentation.
• Adheres to on-call requirements including after-hours, weekends and holidays.

Education

Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
