Job summary

Northshore Home Health Care seeks a Perioperative Nursing Assistant to support surgical services across pre-op, intra-op, and post-op phases. You will assist surgeons, physicians, nurses, and technologists, applying aseptic techniques and maintaining patient safety.

Responsibilities include equipment setup, troubleshooting, patient positioning, and on-call support, with teamwork and families’ needs in focus. Training in BLS and ongoing education are expected.

Qualifications

• Certification: BLS within 30 days.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical sterilization.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication and patient-family sensitivity.
• Willingness to be flexible with on-call duties across settings.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple surgical specialties and phases with equipment setup and patient prep.
• Operate and troubleshoot surgical and anesthesia equipment.
• Ensure aseptic practices and safety protocols during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, documentation, and team communication.
• Respond to on-call needs, including weekends/holidays.
• Foster teamwork and effective communication with families and staff.
• Participate in meetings, education, and quality improvement.
