Job summary

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting multiple surgical specialties and phases of surgery with equipment setup, sterilization, and patient preparation.
• Operating and troubleshooting surgical and anesthesia equipment, including endoscopic video systems, laser devices, and patient warming devices.
• Ensuring aseptic practices, opening sterile items, and maintaining safety protocols during procedures.
• Assisting with patient positioning, documentation, and supporting team communication.
• Responding to on-call needs outside scheduled hours, including weekends and holidays, and prioritizing multiple support functions.
• Fostering teamwork, patient sensitivity, and effective communication with families and staff.
• Participating in departmental meetings, ongoing education, and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications & Skills

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days.

Knowledge of aseptic techniques, surgical equipment, sterilization, and support areas such as instrumentation and supplies.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate critical thinking.

Effective communication skills and sensitivity to patient and family needs.

Willingness to be flexible with on-call and support multiple surgical specialties.
