Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a part-time perioperative nurse to provide intraoperative care as both scrub and circulating team member for patients from neonate to geriatric. This role supports efficient case flow and upholds high standards of safety and aseptic practice.

You will prepare for cases, anticipate needs of the patient, surgeon, and anesthesia, and communicate clearly with patients, families, and staff. The position includes call, weekends, nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN required with perioperative experience preferred.
• Ability to work in both scrub and circulating roles.
• Strong aseptic technique and patient safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases and anticipates needs of patient and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment in the OR.
• Collects data and supports nursing diagnoses for patients.
• Communicates effectively with patients, staff, physicians, and families.
