Job summary

River’s Edge Hospital is seeking an RN to work in Same Day Surgery, Post Anesthesia Care, and the procedure room. The role includes on-call hours for surgical emergencies and a 0.9 full-time schedule (72 hours per two weeks).

You will perform assessments before/during/after surgery, document care, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring patient education and safety.

Qualifications

• Holds a current Minnesota RN license.
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must possess one of: AHA BLS, Red Cross CPR, or a comparable certification at time of hire.
• Employees enrolled in RQI program and must complete quarterly training to obtain AHA BLS within first 3 months if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient's status before, during and after surgery and document care.
• Anticipate, interpret, and act on patient data to prevent problems/complications.
• Identify priorities and apply nursing judgment per policy and standards.
• Perform in crises or complex situations with sound judgment.
• Advocate for patient safety during the perioperative period.
• Suggest changes to policy to ensure quality care.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge of patients and ensure education needs are met.
• Coordinate admission, transfer and discharge for timely transitions.
