Job summary

CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio, TX is seeking a competent Registered Nurse who practices independently in the perioperative or similar clinical setting. You will provide routine and complex nursing care, coordinate with the healthcare team, and support long-range goals for patient care.

The role requires BLS, RN license in Texas or compact, ACLS, and PALS. Prior perioperative RN residency or recent OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• New Nurses Orientation within 30 days for new hires.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given.
• Educates patients, families and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
