Job summary

You will administer medications per protocol, monitor treatments, educate patients and families, and ensure completion of required competencies and certifications within dedicated timeframes. PRN, per diem as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Perioperative RN Residency or OR/perioperative experience preferred.
• Annual competency verification completed.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Educates patients, family members and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
