Job summary

Columbia Endoscopy Surgery Center in Missouri is seeking a Pre Op / Post Op / Intra RN Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care across PreOp, OR, and PACU. The role emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based nursing, and collaboration with physicians and staff.

The successful candidate will have RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, PACU or Critical Care experience, and strong communication and clinical judgment to support patients through the perioperative journey.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS required (PALS if required by the center).
• 2 years PACU or Critical Care experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and nursing judgment.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload.

Responsibilities

• Manage patients’ admission processes to preoperative department.
• Assess health status in pre-op and ensure accurate identification wristband.
• Ensure operative and informed consents are in order and document details.
• Determine surgeon and procedure; record vitals for readiness.
• Initiate IVs and inform patients about procedures and staff.
• Provide nursing care during surgery: position, prep, circulate.
• Monitor postoperative vitals and educate patients and families.
• Develop individualized care plans and ensure infection control standards.
