Job summary

SCA Health in Texas is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room. You will promote the mission and values while delivering perioperative care and advocating for patient safety within a collaborative team.

You will assess patients, develop perioperative plans, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and nurses to ensure smooth, efficient care from pre-op through recovery. A BSN or ADN and an active license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• One year of OR and/or medical / surgical nursing experience preferred.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing.
• BLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current BLS.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS.
• PALS within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS if pediatric care is included.
• Perioperative nursing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient status throughout the perioperative episode of care.
• Develop an individualized perioperative patient plan of care.
• Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.
