Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health's Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Operating Room. The role focuses on assessing patient status, coordinating perioperative care, and delivering pre-op, intra-op, and post-op nursing interventions in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Ideal candidates will have an accredited nursing degree, active RN licensure, and OR internship or Critical Care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) and BLS/ACLS or PALS (preferred at hire).
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment in the OR.
• Provides pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care, including discharge instructions.
• Observe the surgery and assist to create and maintain a safe environment.
• Coordinate nursing care of the patient within the OR with the surgical team.
