Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room to support preoperative and postoperative patient care in a fast-paced surgical suite. You will evaluate patients, educate families, prepare patients for surgery, and participate in safety protocols and team rounds.

On-call is required during select non-business hours, and the role may offer a sign-on bonus. The hospital emphasizes collaboration, patient safety, and continuous improvement in a high-volume OR.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required within 30 days of start date.
• RN license or eligibility required.
• Associate degree in nursing or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient/family education about procedures and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patient including IV therapy and preoperative meds.
• Assist in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies with high-quality care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, techs and nursing team for optimal outcomes.
• Document patient condition changes and care provided.
