Job summary

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse OR Surgery-evening to join our team in a dynamic operating room setting in the Kendall area of Miami. The role includes preop assessment, patient education, medication administration, site verification, and coordination with surgeons and staff to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• RN license/eligibility required.
• ACLS, BLS and PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Associate degree required; RN with active license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients including intravenous therapy and preoperative medications.
• Assist in surgical site verification, including time out and debriefing per hospital policy.
• Respond to patient emergencies with high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support safe nursing care in the OR.
• Apply nursing process, critical thinking and leadership to patient care.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes throughout shift.
