Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon, is seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in perioperative care for PACU and pre-/post-anesthesia phases. The role includes on-call rotations, administering medications, patient monitoring, and collaboration with anesthesia teams to ensure safe recovery.

Two shifts within a 36-hour work week are available, with employer-paid medical, dental, and vision benefits. The unit focuses on high-quality patient care and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Required: Associate of Applied Science in Nursing.
• Current Oregon RN license with BLS/PALS/ACLS; TNCC preferred.
• 1 year critical care or 2 years medical-surgical experience.
• Preferred: Conscious sedation, CAPA/CPAN, ultrasound-guided IV.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments in pre- and postoperative phases.
• Admissions and IV access initiation per standards.
• Monitor HR, RR, SpO2, BP, and consciousness; intervene as needed.
• Administer pain meds and assess effectiveness; manage nausea.
• Collaborate with anesthesia and other disciplines; on-call as needed.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record.
