Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care in Hermiston, Oregon is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in perioperative care for the PACU. The nurse will handle pre- and post-anesthesia care, monitor patients, assist anesthesia with procedures, manage IV access, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Oregon
• BLS/PALS/ACLS, & TNCC
• Experience: 1 year Critical care or 2 years medical–surgical

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing assessments in pre and postoperative phase.
• Performs patient admissions per hospital standard of care.
• Initiate and manage intravenous access.
• Monitor vital signs and intervene per medical guidelines.
• Use Aldrete scoring in PACU phase of care.
• Ensure airway and respiratory function; intervene as needed.
• Administer meds and assess effectiveness; manage post-op nausea.
• Develop peri-anesthesia care plans; assist anesthesia with nerve blocks.
• Document in electronic medical record; maintain competencies.
