Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or RNFA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Internal applicants: one year of recent related clinical experience.
• External applicants: two years of recent related clinical experience.
• Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
• Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
• Performing circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patients' conditions and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
• Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.
