CGH Medical Center in Sterling, IL seeks a Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care on a specialty unit, applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. You will document care and collaborate with the care team to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires IL RN licensure, an ADN with BSN preferred, and BLS within 30 days of hire. Strong computer skills and blood-draw experience are beneficial as you support patient education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Maintains certification as required by specialty unit.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire; maintained thereafter.
• Basic computer knowledge strongly preferred.
• Prior knowledge of drawing blood preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of medical equipment and instruments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and IV therapies following nursing practice acts.
• Maintain patient records documenting care provided.
• Assess and plan patient/family education and discharge needs.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies appropriately.
• Solve problems and delegate/evaluate care team functions.
• Model professional practice and support other staff.
• Apply current scientific knowledge to nursing skills.
