Job summary

Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS, is seeking an RN-First Assistant (RNFA) to provide direct surgical assistance and perioperative care. You will work with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff to ensure optimal outcomes and patient safety.

This full-time position requires CNOR, ACLS preferred, and a valid RN license in Mississippi. The role includes preoperative assessment, intraoperative support, and postoperative care in a busy surgical unit.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of perioperative nursing experience.
• CNOR certification required; ACLS preferred.
• RN license in state of practice.
• Ability to stand long periods and move in OR.

Responsibilities

• Performs first assist duties under surgeon guidance, including tissue retraction, hemostasis, cutting and suturing.
• Preoperative assessment and site marking.
• Maintains sterile field and handles instruments properly.
• Monitors patient condition throughout the procedure.
• Provides postoperative care and supports recovery/transfer.
