Job summary

Capital Health in Hopewell, NJ seeks a skilled RN First Assistant to join the operating room team. You will assist surgeons during procedures, position and drape patients, maintain hemostasis, and provide perioperative patient advocacy and education.

The role requires an Associates degree in nursing, CNOR certification within six months, First Assistant training, and 3 years OR experience; ACLS/NRP/PALS as needed, NJ RN license.

Qualifications

• Education: Associates degree in nursing; First Assistant program; CNOR within six months of hire.
• Experience: Three years operating room experience in both scrub and circulating roles.
• Credentials: AHA BLS; NJ RN license; ACLS/NRP/PALS as required by assignment.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians by performing individualized surgical care management before, during and after surgery.
• Position, prep and drape patient; assist with hemostasis and tissue retraction as directed by surgeon.
• Maintain asepsis and infection control; uphold operating room etiquette and safety standards.
• Document treatment and communicate plan of care to patient and family; participate in resuscitation during emergencies.
