Job summary

MercyOne is seeking a skilled perioperative nurse to provide intraoperative care as both scrub and circulating team member. The role supports patients across age groups from neonate to geriatric and requires flexibility for call, weekends, nights, and holidays.

The successful candidate will assist in case preparation, maintain aseptic technique, monitor equipment, and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and OR staff to ensure safe, efficient operations in a busy surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current or compact state license as a Registered Nurse.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification within six weeks of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training within three months of hire.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases efficiently, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia and OR staff.
• Provides a safe environment by adhering to aseptic technique and managing the clinical environment.
• Collects and analyzes data and assesses patient for nursing diagnoses.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians and families.
• Initiates and directs room clean up and turnover.
