Job summary

HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital is seeking an experienced RN to join our Peri-operative team as an Operating Room Coordinator. You will collaborate with physicians and the health care team to deliver high-quality intra-operative care tailored to each patient’s needs.

You’ll influence patient outcomes through open, collaborative relationships with your manager and hospital councils, while supporting standards, safety and continuous improvement in the OR.

Qualifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Florida or able to obtain licensure before start.
• Minimum 3 years perioperative experience or completion of Perioperative Nursing course preferred.
• 3 years RN experience in an Acute Care setting preferred.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and address urgent and emergent surgical situations.
• Foster continuity and quality of care in the best interests of patients.
• Assess and monitor patients’ medical status while in the OR; monitor vitals and provide general nursing care.
• Ensure the operating room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation and equipment.
• Keep the operating room sterilized and compliant with protocols.
• Review charts for completeness per documentation protocols.
• Communicate effectively with patients, teammates and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
