Job summary

USPI St Joesphs Outpatient Surgery Center in Arizona seeks a RN OR Circulator PRN to join a fast-paced ambulatory surgical center. You will assess, plan and deliver perioperative nursing care, ensuring patient safety and effective communication with physicians, patients and teams.

The role emphasizes adherence to nursing standards, surgical counts and documentation, promotion of infection control, and participation in quality improvement for optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients at intervals as stated in policies and procedures.
• Develop an individualized perioperative plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care with appropriate interventions.
• Protect patient from injury caused by chemical, electrical, laser, positioning, thermal sources, and extraneous objects.
• Perform count procedures to protect patient from unintended retained foreign objects.
• Communicate patient’s current status throughout the continuum of care.
• Administer medications appropriately.
• Maintain patient’s wound and tissue perfusion at baseline levels.
• Ensure patient is at or returned to normothermia after surgery.
• Protect patient’s rights, dignity, and privacy.
• Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
