Job summary

USPI St Joesphs Outpatient Surgery Center in Sun City, AZ is hiring a RN OR Circulator PRN to join a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate perioperative care for patients across age groups and communicate with physicians, patients, families, and team members.

This role requires working within nursing standards, contributing to quality improvement, and participating in committees as designated.

Qualifications

• RN OR Circulator experience preferred.
• Perioperative care planning and evaluation responsibilities.
• Ability to communicate with physicians, patients, families and other team members.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients at intervals as stated in policies and procedures.
• Develop an individualized perioperative plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care with appropriate interventions.
• Protect patient from injury related to chemical, electrical, laser, positioning, thermal sources and extraneous objects.
• Perform count procedures to protect against retained foreign objects.
• Ensure the procedure is performed on the correct site, side and level.
• Manage specimens appropriately.
• Communicate patient status throughout the continuum of care.
• Administer medications appropriately.
• Maintain patient wound and tissue perfusion at baseline levels.
• Maintain system balances (genitourinary, GI, MSK, endocrine, respiratory, cardiovascular, neuro).
• Maintain normothermia postoperatively.
• Protect patient from infection.
• Educate patient/family on management and expected responses.
• Involve patient in perioperative decisions and rehabilitation process.
• Protect patient rights, dignity, and privacy.
• Provide culturally competent, age-appropriate care.
• Deliver consistent care across settings.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes and transfer care as appropriate.
