Job summary

Steindler Surgery Center in Iowa seeks a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to support its Ambulatory Surgery Center, primarily in perioperative and post-anesthesia care areas. The RN will assess patient needs, apply nursing theory, and contribute to safe patient outcomes across all phases of care, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia, and the care team.

The role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.

Qualifications

• Current State of Iowa Registered Nurse license.
• CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Minimum 2 years of PACU, Pre/Post Recovery, OR, or procedural nursing experience.
• Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting is preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certification, or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition in post-anesthesia and PACU areas and monitor progress.
• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate interventions to prepare patients for procedures and safe discharge.
• Monitor anesthesia/sedation, including airway management and patient safety.
• Administer treatments and physician orders accurately and promptly.
• Support patient education and post-operative care coordination.
• Assist with chart review, infection control, stocking, and quality initiatives.
