Job summary

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a 1.0 FTE Day Shift nurse leader for PACU, Pre-Op, Anesthesia, Respiratory Therapy and Wound Care. The role focuses on guiding staff, coordinating with management, and driving safety and quality initiatives.

The position requires MN RN licensure, BSN/MSN preferred, and BLS within 90 days. ACLS as needed, with strong communication and leadership skills to manage budgets and policies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program and MN licensure required.
• Two or more years of nursing experience with management experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire; ACLS if required for staff within area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and guidance to staff members.
• Establishes effective working relationships with management, medical staff, and personnel.
• Partners with department chairs to set departmental goals focusing on safety, quality, and patient satisfaction.
• Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
• Applies evidence-based nursing practices and standards.
• Prepares and manages budget; eliminates redundancy and unnecessary costs.
• Assists in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
• Recruits staff and plans orientation and training.
• Schedules staff to maintain safe patient care and productivity.
• Conducts annual performance evaluations.
• Monitors ongoing competency and staff training.
• Coordinates training to meet regulatory requirements.
• Advises staff of changes in healthcare environment.
• Other duties as assigned.
