Job summary

Dallas Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an experienced OR Nurse Manager to oversee perioperative services for outpatient surgery, staffing, resource management, and patient safety.

This full-time role requires a current RN license, BLS/ACLS on hire, a BSN, and at least two years of supervisory experience in surgical nursing. CNOR is preferred. Work is days, with hours 8:00am–4:00pm, at Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, Texas, with dual responsibilities across both facilities.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in state of practice.
• BLS (AHA) required on hire and maintained.
• Minimum of two years of supervisory/management experience.
• Two years of experience in Surgical Nursing.
• BSN is required; CNOR preferred.
• Proven ability to oversee perioperative services and ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adequate OR staffing levels and coordinate with departments to meet patient needs while optimizing efficiency.
• Manage OR resources including equipment, supplies, and medications to ensure availability and good working condition.
• Oversee patient care coordination throughout outpatient procedures and coordinate with anesthesia providers and post-procedure care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, patient safety, and relevant policies and procedures.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to OR staff, including circulating nurses, scrub nurses, surgical technologists, and support personnel.
• Foster teamwork and communication among surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other professionals in the perioperative process.
• Lead during emergencies or complications, directing the team to ensure prompt patient care.
• Consult with staff and leadership on nursing issues, policy interpretation, and contribute to performance and quality improvement initiatives.
