Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut offers a comprehensive OR Transition to Practice Program for new graduate and experienced nurses (non-OR).

The 12-month program includes an introductory perioperative nursing phase followed by clinical orientation across multiple surgical specialties. Candidates begin February 22nd, 2027, with Monday–Friday 6:30am–3:00pm orientation and potential evening, night, and weekend shifts later.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut nursing license required prior to start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Exposure to perioperative nursing practice environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scrub Nurse: assist the surgical team by preparing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Circulating Nurse: manage OR environment, ensure tools and supplies are available, document procedures.
